Cochin ( Kochi )is said to be the commercial capital of Kerala. Geographically Cochin is located in the center of Kerala. It is basically a collection of islands. Cochin is the land of palaces, forts, beaches, backwaters, old churches, snake boat races, Kathakali, museums and the is having all modern facilities of a modern city.
Ernakulam is the commercial centre at Cochin. The two railway stations and a bus stands are located here at Ernakulam. FortKochi & Mattanchery, forms an island west of Ernakulam. Willingdon Island which houses the Airport, Port & the naval base lies between Ernakulam & FortKochi. Jos junction in Ernakulam is considered as the prime centre of the city. |
